It’s the little things.

Following from my last blog post I thought ‘well I can’t really dish all of that negativity (yet realness) out and leave it there’.

So here are my tips for keeping positive.

d1a01b8b8556349cc33f55cddb1f74cd

1.Let yourself off the hook.

It’s okay to have “those day”. Why wouldn’t it be? I don’t understand why anyone can judge a person for not being fine and having no reason, or even a reason that doesn’t seem worth it. We’re human. And life… well it can be crappy. So let yourself be. Accept your crappy mood. And to hell with everyone else. If you want me time then have your me time. Sometimes it does us the world of good to have a shut down period.

2. A clean space is a clean mind.

Sometimes the best thing for us is to put a playlist on and get to work organising and cleaning our bedrooms. This gives us time to just be with our thoughts. Dance around. Sing into the deodorant or hairbrush and clear out any clutter. It’s no science that a clear space is a clear mind. It’s a day where you reflect. Or maybe even forget what was bothering you in the first place and by the time you remember you’ve either figured out a solution, you’re ready to face it or better yet, you don’t care anymore.

3.Music to my ears

Is it really shameful that certain songs can be really insightful and actually make me feel better? Well that’s the truth. Honestly. Going for a walk while playing the likes of London Grammar, Coldplay, Hans Zimmer and other, does me the world of good. Again its that simple me time. Shutting off from social media and just being with my thoughts. I’d recommend going for a walk somewhere quiet. I’m lucky enough to live in the countryside so a walk is always refreshing. Cities can be good for people-watching but then there’s always the issue of running into people you know and that interrupts me time.

img_24431

4. Dear Diary

Do what I did. Write down what’s bothering you. What you’re feeling. What’s going on in your life. You don’t have to share this publicly like I did, that’s the best part, it can be completely private. Your deepest thoughts tucked away in a notebook hidden away even. Or write a draft email if you prefer the new age technological form of journalling (I’m old school and appreciate the humble pen and paper). This might sound strange too but you could always write your thoughts on a sheet of paper and then throw it in the fire or rip it up and throw it away.

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

5.Cooking (or baking, whatever floats your boat)

You need to eat so why not use this as a way of distracting yourself. Challenge yourself by not going by a recipe and picking out random ingredients from the cupboards. It could be a complete disaster but at least it’s something.

Processed with VSCO with f2 presetimg_21951

6. Reading

Fall into another world. Get inside someone else’s head. I love how characters can feel like real people in your life. Their situations can be relatable and insightful. Don’t underestimate the power of a good book.

Ahhh the power of a cuppa and a mag!
georgias-iphone-pics-079
Bonus points if you know what book this is!

So there we have it. I can’t promise this will change your life and extinguish all sources of bother, but they might help for a little while. It’s all about distractions, until the mood passes and you’re all good again.

“Being positive in a negative situation is not being naive. It’s leadership”

-Lead your life in the direction you want.

Is there an answer for everything?

Sometimes I’m not fine. And sometimes I can’t explain why. It’s not that I’m saying I’m depressed, it’s just that there are days where it feels like there’s a dark cloud following me around.

I don’t want to face anyone, talk or be around people. All I want is to be in my own company, maybe lie in bed all day.

That might sound bad like there’s something wrong, but this is just-some days.

It seems that saying I’m not fine but can’t explain why isn’t good enough so it’s easier just to pretend when asked.

Why is it there always has to be some kind of explanation? Why does there have to be a reason for feeling low?

Today is one of those days.

I’m not depressed. I’m just not feeling so high and happy today. Is that wrong? Why should it be wrong? Why can’t that just be acceptable? Without someone uttering the word “hormonal”. Putting down how I feel, and the justification of that.

I’m not the type of person who likes to confide in people, share they’re deepest thoughts and look for support. A lot of the time when I do share things it’s either I’ve forgotten myself or I’ve just scratched the service of what’s really going on in my head.

Trust is a hard thing for me. I feel like it’s just easier when you rely on yourself. Push myself forward, deal with life myself and get by on my own accord. I have a wonderful family who are there for me, and I do talk with them, but even they can’t always be the ones I turn to.And even they don’t always accept the lack of reason for a mood.

I’m not really sure what I’m doing here. Funny how I can say all of this here and not to the people in my life that are closest to me.

I guess in my head I’m the only one reading this. After all I haven’t really told anyone I have a blog.

Sorry if this feels like I’m bringing the mood down. But honesty is real and I do not want my blog to be a place where things are sugar coated. This is life after all, my life. I’d consider myself an optimistic person, but everyday can’t be great.

I guess that’s one reason I’ve written this post and the other is because maybe someone will read this and hopefully understand what I mean.

Here’s to a happier tomorrow.

What are you looking forward to this weekend? Let me know in the comments!

Freshers.

Hello Lovelies.

Spring Vignette Hop + Free Watercolor Printable:

Congratulations to you all who are starting college! I can’t believe how quick my first year went and now I’m going into second year.So crazy!

In my first year of college I learnt a few things that they don’t tell you about during Orientation week. My friend actually just asked me today if I had any tips for her. So here it is; my first year/freshers survival guide.

(In no particular order)

1.THE TECH TIP

Get a laptop that has a long battery life. I don’t know about all colleges but NUI Galway has a serious lack of sockets on campus. Even the library; not all of the desks will have a place for you to plug in your phone/laptop charger so make sure when you go in you have your laptop fully charged and/or that it has a long battery.

The lecture halls don’t have any sockets which in 2016 I can’t fathom. The students union office continue to petition for more but we’re still waiting.

2. THE CAFFEINE FIX TIP

OK so college will a lot of the time involve coffee. Chilling out between lectures with your friends is where you will socialise the most over cups of coffee. However, we’re students, we’re on budgets so getting 2 cups of coffee a day starts to add up. Well here’s a tip. The coffee spots across the campus on NUIGalway all have a cup charge. So, if you buy a cheap reusable cup e.g from Penney’s and hand that over to get a coffee you’ll save at least 30c. Not much but every little helps for the nights out fund!

Coffee Mug - Ceramic Coffee Mug - Tea - Quote Mug- Tea Lover - Gift Idea - Tea Cup - Tea Time - Adulting Is Hard:

My preference is Americano’s so usually I pay €1.30, or flat white’sand its good quality coffee too! Teas are €1 but less again if you use your own cup!

(comment below your typical coffee order)

3. AND ANOTHER ONE FOR THE COFFEE LOVERS AND TEA DRINKERS

Again with the reusable cups but they are life savers. The library won’t allow you to take drinks in unless their liquids in plastic bottles (water bottles) or coffee cups-not the cardboard ones.

So while you’re studying have your cup ready and then run out for a quick coffee break and get back in no probs.

4.THE SOCIAL LIFE TIP

Join clubs and societies. I know you probably just wan to go to your lectures and go out at night but seriously the extra curricular’s have so much to offer. I’m not going to lie it’s hard to settle into college sometimes, depending on your circumstances; living at home, type of course etc. But by putting yourself out there and into situations where you’re mixing with loads of people will really help.

Besides the social factor there are also great opportunities to come from joining these groups for example, it adds to your cv. Recently when I went for a part time job interview they ignored my lack of experience and instead were really interested about my time writing for the college paper and my position as events manager and treasurer in the Style society.

Remember great things never happen in comfort zones.

4. THE ORGANISATION TIP ((((((((‘USE THE DAMN PLANNER!’)))))))))

Meredith Grey didn't become a surgeon and get to marry McDreamy by not studying…:

O.k so you got by in school without writing in your planner or using multiple or any folders at all but behavior like that won’t fly in college. The difference there is no teacher standing behind your shoulder reminding you when your project’s due or what night to do your homework. You’re on your own.

In college you won’t be doing homework every night, you’ll have assignments due every few weeks so you need to make sure you stay on top of stuff and this is where your planner comes in handy!

The college even provide you with free ones so there’s no cost-no excuse.

_____________________________________________

College is pretty much the end of the academic road, after that it’s into the workforce. This is pretty much the last time in your life to let loose and have fun without a tonne of responsibilities so make the most of it.

Let me know where and what you’re doing after school I’d love to hear from you.

Everything happens for a reason.

Hello Lovelies.

August. It’s a tense time. For some it acts as the Sunday version of the year-a painful reminder that our free time is on countdown as the return to school/college is looming.

Then there’s the other more pressing matter of Leaving Cert results which August also marks.

After a grueling year of trying to swallow your textbooks to remember everything; lugging around a pound of exam papers and countless sleepless nights dreaming about going blank in the exam. You did it and you sat the exam- that was hard.

The next part though is for many just as hard, if not harder.

Results. It feels like this letter you will be given will literally determine the rest of your life. Since leaving school I have realised how much of a big deal I though school was. Of course for educational purposes yes it mattered but I thought it was it. Everything that went on  all the fuss the drama the blood sweat and tears.

Here’s the thing though, and I promise you this; school isn’t everything. There’s so much more out there that matters.  Getting the points doesn’t mean everything will be perfectly lined up in your life after this. There’s so much more you can do.

You have options, many actually.

So if it turns out the three digit score you get doesn’t add up to what you wanted or you don’t get the course/college you want then here’s what you do.

First take a moment. Have a little moment, a good cry if needs be. And then pull yourself together. You are no longer in the safety net that is school. You have to carry yourself. This is your life. You can either let the rejection eat you up and be miserable or you can be positive and take control.

Everything happens for a reason. Maybe this is the path you’re meant to take. If it turns out you didn’t want to go to college but don’t know what to do, pick a random part time course, get a job, start a hobby or pursue a passion of yours.

You can get to where you want to be and you can be happy. Just because you don’t get the points you aimed for or don’t receive the offer you wished for doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world.

I actually didn’t get my first course application, I got my second. And looking back now it was the best thing. It’s hard to know exactly what you want to do when you’re 17/18 and have never really experienced life. Turns out a year later what I had picked and thought i wanted isn’t really what I want anymore. In fact I’m planning on pursuing a completely different career.

Hope this helps a little. Just remember you have options, and everything does happen for a reason.

Regardless of how the results are, go out and celebrate with your friends. I balled my eyes out when I got my results because I had aimed higher. But I still picked myself up and went out and I’m so glad I did. Completing the LC is an achievement in itself and deserves to be ended on a high note!

Friendship.

Hello Lovelies!

We all want to have people that stand by us; make us laugh; create memories of drunken nights out with; travel with and above all just make life more enjoyable.

Each friendship will add something new to your life. You’ll learn something new about yourself and about people/life in general. You’ll gain new experiences and above all you’ll grow as a person, because we can always learn things from one another.

There are also the friendships that fail. The ones that just didn’t make it. And this I know a lot about.Unfortunately.

In the last two years I have really been let down by people I thought I could count on. What hurt the most was that I knew I had been giving the friendships so much effort. I was there for them. But the same wasn’t done for me.

Recently I was very hurt by a person I thought would never. I don’t want to go into detail but I will tell you that it was a serious falling out over absolutely nothing (significant), I was disrespected and hurt.

What I learnt from this was that I don’t need this sort of friendship in my life. I realise now that the effort I was making was wasted because this friendship didn’t add anything positive to my life. The old me though, definitely would have been bothered about this for ages.

I’ve also drifted apart from a lot of people. I used to get really bothered when I didn’t speak to/hear from people in ages and if it looked like we might be growing a part. I’d try to push our friendship back together. It’s good to make an effort, it’s important to be active in your friendships but I’ve learned that sometimes (a lot) I need to just let go of these people.

I’m sick of being let down. If you’re my friend then I’ll do what I can to be a good friend. And yeah I give second chances. But I’m not going to let myself be burned over and over again because you know what I deserve better.

On the other side, I recently got in contact with someone who used to be my best friend. And I mean BEST friend. The issues in this friendship were that I neglected some of my other friendships and I’m not proud of some of my behavior. But here’s the thing. Those things were in my control. SO… after a year out of a bad environment (all-girls school), a year of new people and a year of maturity I’ve realised  that I’m not quite the same as I was and she probably isn’t either. So maybe it’s time for a second chance?

So the girl I thought I shouldn’t be friends with is the person I want to get to know again and the girls who told me not to go back there “that I deserved better” turned out to be the ones to let me down the most.

I’m moving on from the childish nature some people express. I’m ready to go back to college and start fresh. I’m going to put myself out there even if I’m really nervous and scared of trusting people and being let down again, but I’m going to try anyway. I’m going to go try new things and just loosen up and little and enjoy myself.

Here’s to being done with the bitches and making REAL friends.

Let’s celebrate them

Hello Lovelies!

It seems like there’s a lot of negativity directed at women on the internet lately.

It’s something I’m sick of seeing so I decided that on my little part of the internet I want to bring a little positivity and celebrate the great things women are doing.

These are five women doing great things, being amazing girl bosses and in general just not letting the world put them down.

~Marissa Carter~

Owner and founder of Irish brand ‘Cocoa Brown Tan’. Marissa is the real deal #girlboss. I love seeing women be independent and do great things. She’s business savvy and has developed an impressive and popular brand. Her name means something and her business is booming, there’s definitely more to come from this Irish entrepreneur. She had an idea and committed herself to building it.

~Louise O’Neill~

An Irish author and regular writer for the Irish Examiner. Louise is definitely someone I find interesting because one of my things to do on my bucket-list is to write and publish a novel. She’s a respected writer in Ireland and speaks her mind. She doesn’t seem to really care for those that criticise her. She’s unapologetic and I really admire that. You’ll know what I mean if you follow her snapchat which if you don’t then you definitely should!

~Emma Watson~

There’s definitely more to her than being Hermione Granger. The #heforshe campaign was inspiring. I’m a feminist but unlike some I don’t believe in man hating which is why I liked this campaign so much because it promotes feminism in terms of equality and shares the issue with men, inviting them to have their say and support women’s movement. Watson also has a brain and because of her passion for human rights and education I feel she’s a great role model.

~Victoria Beckham~

The press didn’t take her seriously during and after her Spice girl days but boy did they underestimate her. Victoria re-invented herself, going from popstar to fashion designer and style icon, a well respected individual in the fashion industry. Here’s the thing about life you can do whatever you want, there are always choices and always a chance to change. I love how Victoria took control of her life and used the critics to only spur her forward.

~Betsey Johnson~

And here is number 5. If you don’t know who she is then you mustn’t have any interest in the fashion industry because this is one very influential lady.

Johnson is an American designer. She creates magical pieces that are a mirror of her personality; feminine and whimsical. I’m always inspired by her because after all these years she’s still having fun with fashion.

At age 78, she’s also putting a lot of people to shame- there’s no excuse, she’s running a business and isn’t holding back.

As a breast cancer survivor this woman is definitely someone to look up to. She enjoys life and celebrates all that comes with it.

Many might judge her let’s call it unique style, especially because of her age. What I say; have you ever seen her in pictures not smiling? She’s confident and doing her own thing. I just love her.

What other women do you love? Who’s done something that wowed you? Who inspires you? Let’s celebrate the great things about women instead of bitching about them.

Let me know in the comments!

Is the summer overrated?

my answer-yes.

Hello lovelies.

July is slowly coming to an end and we’re about to be in the last month of the summer. It’s got me thinking about what I’ve done and what I’ve yet to do.

Why is it every year there’s this mission we all feel we must plan to ensure we have the best summer ever!

A summer that will look back on when facebook sends you a throwback reminder in a few years time when we’re in full time work mid 20’s and feeling nostalgic about our youthful days. O.k tad bit dramatic but still everyone seems to want that perfect summer.

Me, I don’t like those three months called the summer. There’s way too much expectation. I also really like having a plan and a routine, so part of me kind of misses being back at college being productive and having something to do everyday.

Then there’s the clothes. Bikini season-need I say any more.

Again the expectation that you should look your best and by your best I mean picture the perfect girls in the magazine articles with the title ‘how to get your summer bod’.

Unless you live anywhere but Ireland then there’s really only going to be a couple days to max two weeks of good decent sunny weather, otherwise get a light raincoat and get used to the rain. That’s right the only tan you’ll get here will be courtesy of Cocoa Brown or one of the other many fake tans.

The desire to do lots and travel is quickly met by the realisation that you need money and the pressure from parents to do more then sleep in all day and go out all night means oh yes it is in fact time to print out the cv’s and find a job. Not easy but with a minimum of 3 months off you don’t have much of a choice.

For someone who has allergies the summer can also mean days of high pollen content in the air and walking around looking like you’ve got the flu in the middle of the summer.sniff sniff- it’s a pain in the booty. Anyone relate to this?

Now to avoid flooding your day with pessimism because of this post, I like to try and also look on the bright side so here’s a couple things I like about the summer.

Iced coffees-oh so basic I know. Getting to wear sunglasses more often, my fave accessory. Time for tv marathons; Friends, Gilmore Girls, Desperate Housewives, there’s time for it all and more. More time in the day. I love how my mornings are brighter and the evenings are longer. And finally, it’s acceptable to eat ice-cream all the time.Well sort of.

So long story short the summer in generally can suck but there’s always something to be positive about. Let me know if you can relate to anything I’ve said or if you are ‘summer loving’ 🙂

Inspiration vs. Originality

Hello Lovelies.

Today’s topic of discussion is creativity and digital influencers.

Processed with VSCO with b1 preset

So in the age of the bloggers and vloggers, instagrammers and the youtube famous the issue of creativity;  we’re more often now seeing up and coming creators echo the works of the greater more settled digital influencers.

First of all, up until 5 years ago (in my opinion) blogging wasn’t really a thing. It  certainly wasn’t at the level of popularity it is now.. As for vlogging, well, ‘vlogs’ were actually referred to as ‘follow me around’ videos.

Now that the road has been paved, more and more (including myself) have decided to bring their own voice to the growing circle.

But as is always the case with creativity, sometimes the writers block monster can pop up and desperation kicks in. Imagine a tumbleweed rolling past in your brain, representing a lack of ideas.

You’re stumped. Ya got nothing.NIL. Squat.Nada…    (Ok I think you get the point.)

It’s so easy to look to other outlets for inspiration, and get ideas that aren’t exactly truly yours.

On the other-hand, it can also be laziness. Sometimes bloggers/vloggers see another get great success from one post or video or a certain use of editing or music and wham bam! It’s ‘hey that works, guess I’ll do it too’.

A lot of the time people want views. Hey I have a blog I get it. But seriously. I don’t think you’ll get anywhere by mimicking the work of another. Think about it. They got where they are because THEY DID SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

This idea of inspiration vs. originality came to me when I saw a twitter convo take place during the week between a few youtube vloggers.

The topic was youtuber Casey Neistat whose channel has grown by the millions in just a few years. Neistat is very popular for his impeccable, creative and stunning videography skills that produce the most beautiful raw footage. (And also his relaxed cool guy persona)

If you’re into vlogging he is your go-to for motivation and inspiration. However, others have also tried to imitate the youtubers vlogging style from music to angles to edits for their own road to success.

The argument unfolded when fellow youtube vlogger, Steve Booker, called out those who seem to be copycats of Neistat and how disappointing it is. But another twitter user felt Booker’s tweet actually had the potential to negatively affect others who might be considering starting a vlog channel or who are new vloggers.

IMG_1844[1]

Here the conversation unfolds in the following tweets by Booker, Neistat, and another vlogger; George Benson, as well as other fans of the youtubers and twitter users.

IMG_1845[1]IMG_1847[1]

Neistat, who Ivell is actually a fan of, didn’t agree with his point that Booker’s tweet might dissuade other vloggers, felt that copycats ruin youtube.

In my opinion, he has a point. Because copying is pointless. What would people watch your videos when they’ve already got a source for that style content from another well-established channel. The same goes for blogs.

I try to be as original as I can, but I will acknowledge that some of my posts are similar to other pages.

It’s hard as creators to always be unique, Be you not someone else. But sometimes when you really idolise someone, or love what their doing you just want to hop on that trend and get going yourself.

The important thing to remember is that we all bring something different. The internet is a big place and there’s room for all of us.

Success takes time. But you won’t get far if you don’t work in your own style.

You were born an original, so why die a copy?

Love that quote. *Not mine, but I always see it on pinterest.

Here’s to those creative juices flowing! 🙂

Hate Reading

What is hate reading you might ask. Well according to the Dictionary.com it is

to read (a blog, newspaper, etc.) that one professes to dislike, often with the intention to mock or criticize.

Basically you’re actively visiting a site on the web just so you can bitch about the individual  associated.

It’s a very vicious activity but we all do it,  the scary thing is we might not realise we’re actually doing it.

This post was inspired by an article I read in Stellar Magazine (June 2016 issue). Truth be told I had never even heard of the term hate reading let alone know what it was. After reading the article I realised that I probably do it too, maybe not every day and I can’t think of a particular page I do it to, not that I’d even say, but I know I do it.

Now don’t get me wrong it doesn’t mean we’re bad people. The cause of this just falls back on natural human behaviours that are jealousy, curiosity, and boredom.

While the internet has opened up a lot of wonderful doors it has as we’re all aware of released our inner monsters.

We’ve become accustomed to the selfie upload (which I do myself) and wait in anticipation for the likes to roll in. Don’t lie you do it too. And I probably won’t stop because ya if i’m feeling my look then I will. The issue here is when we start to view and critique others. Ooh look at the liner FAIL, why is her head tilted so far left FAIL lol poser, wow he’s so into himself-get over it.

Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness.:

Now thinking these thoughts is one thing. But going out of your way to seek out these pages just so you can critique them is another. You may be the nicest person, the most loyal friend and a devoted family member but you are not bettering yourself as a person by these actions. It makes you more conceited, judgmental and inhibits your ability to not base your opinion of a person besides their insta page or twitter feed or even criticising them from your first impression.

Believe me because this is true, because I was like this. Over the last couple of years, from being influenced by those around me (I went to all girl school-think that speaks for itself)  and social media I became more judgemental. I did the above in my head, I never said it to their faces but I did bitch A LOT. Now 18 and in college I’ve told myself to grow up, cop on and get over myself, because a judgmental personality is an ugly personality. I tried to mask it as best I could, but I’m pretty sure my poker face wasn’t always on point. In fact it’s ended up hurting me now, well they do say karma’s a bitch only if you are!

However the one thing I never did, and never will is give into the hate read temptation and actually post my thoughts.

This is where things have gone too far and you can’t defend yourself with Oh its just an innocent thought, no, because now its an action. This is where you’ve actually crossed the line over to being an online troll, a bully.

Her opening line when I heard her speak, so powerful. treat people the way you would want to be treated!!!!! Old saying, but great advice.:

Now most people wouldn’t consider themselves bullies but this is where our idea of what a bully is needs to be fully understood. If you go out of your way to publicly humiliate someone and attempt to make them feel bad about themselves then yes you are a bully. It’s all about the choices we make. They chose to post what they did, it’s their right. But you chose to speak out negatively. Just because they posted doesn’t mean they gave you permission to say what you said.

If you wouldn’t say it to their face or scream it in a room full of people, then why is it ok to say it online.

Stick to this to check yourself; If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

Be kind lovelies,

-G xo

What they don’t tell you.

It seems forever since I last wrote a post but things got very busy.

I went into full force study mode, getting up at 7am going into the library for 8 hours coming home, having dinner watching a little tv and then going to bed and repeating this routine for 4 weeks. I didn’t really have the time nor the energy to post anything and I definitely didn’t feel very creative. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

In the spirit of exams season I wanted to share here how I got through the study blues. These aren’t the typical things people tell you but this is how I survived.

brighten up your note-taking sessions with #washitape:

Just to get it out of the way studying for exams can be very draining. BUT- they do end and when they do you at least what to know that you did everything you could, you tried your hardest. “What if” haunts me which is why I dived straight in and was all-consumed with working hard.

I’ll enjoy the summer far more knowing that even if the grades aren’t amazing that I worked my booty off.

Sleep-What I will suggest is that if you can try to designate one morning to a sleep in. I would recommend saturday morning just because by friday you’re so tired from the whole week that your desperate for some zzz’s so having even just one morning of 2/3 hours extra sleep will do you the world of good. When I’m studying I usually get up around 7am and start studying around 8:30/9. But if its a sleep in day i’ll wake up at 11 and start working at 12/1pm.

This is like a little treat for yourself which is basically going to be the message of this entire post- how to treat yo self to get through this time.

COFFEE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. This pretty much goes without saying but I do have some tips for this one. Firstly if you’re studying in a library or elsewhere and you’re going to a cafe to get your coffee then buy one of those reusable cups and bring it with you. The cost is less and though it may only be a 20c difference it all adds up. Considering I was getting at least one coffee pretty much everyday it definitely added up so by making this small change I was saving the equivalent of 1 cup a week. Also to be healthier I would switch to americano’s. Lattes have so much milk i.e. fat and when you think that you’re sitting down all day long then this too adds up plus you get more of a caffeine kick from black coffee.

Wear makeup everyday. I know I should promote the whole fresh faced look but I’m not gonna lie; I looked liked crap most days during the last few weeks. My skin did not appreciate the library air, or the lack of fresh air and sunshine on my face. Doing my makeup in the morning made me feel ready to start the day. When you’re working all day you can also start to feel a little crabby so looking nice and put together just gives you a little bit of confidence and helps you face the day. If you don’t feel good then this will out you in a bad mood that will affect how productive you are in the day.

A little bit of tele never hurt nobody- Give yourself something to look forward to after a long day. I have series to catch up on nearly everyday like grey’s anatomy, made in chelsea, rich kids, home and away and neighbours etc. If you have been working all day in school and completed 2-4 hours in the evening then yes of course you deserve to chill out with your favourite show maybe even binge watch a series in the week-an episode a night:)

The most important thing to keep in mind when it comes to tests and study is that YOU CAN DO IT. I truly believed that I was stupid and not capable of doing the leaving cert but I got through it and I did it. It surprised me that I could but it made me realise that you can do more than you think and more importantly there is life after the LC.

Need A Little Motivation? : theBERRY:

A positive mind sees positive results. Someone once told me that you get what you give. Don’t have yourself ending up saying “what if”. Push yourself and try your very best and that is more than enough.

Best of luck chickas and remember to breath 🙂
